Koinonia means 'Fellowship' in New Testament Greek.
This perfectly encapsulates what we are: a fellowship of people who believe that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour and who live to spread this great news and encourage others to do the same.
Our History – Celebrating 30 years
- The church started in 1996 with a small group of people who wanted to see the Bible being faithfully taught in the town.
- The church met for many years at the Harris Hall, owned by the local Anglican church. At the end of 2019 we moved to the current location at Endeavour School. This was shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown. In response we, like many churches, started streaming our services online. Since then the church has continued to grow. Don the founding Pastor retired at the end of 2025 as planned and Steve became the new Senior Pastor.
- In 2026 we celebrated God’s faithfulness to us as a church.

Koinonia is such a warm and welcoming church and I’ve grown so much in my love for Jesus since I first arrived.
Testimonies from our Church Family
“
One of the things that is really special about Koinonia is the lovely mix of backgrounds, experiences, nationalities and ages within our fellowship.
Koinonia is special because it truly lives up to its name: a Christ-centered family where believers share life, faith and genuine fellowship together.
I enjoy the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where there's freedom to ask questions and also have fun.
I love the diverse range of people, all backgrounds, all ages and the church has a real family feel. The teaching is also brilliant!
An amazing church family that supports not only in prayer but physically too.
Teaching that stands firm to the word of God.
We love to sing songs that tell God's story and focus on him.
